iceRoll is an innovative ice cream concept, enabling anyone to start his own ice cream business.
Since its launching in 2015, iceRoll has developed all over the world and is now present in 4 countries.

iceRoll HQ is based in Paris and the boss, Quentin Bourdonnay, 24, is one of the few CEOs of a global food company daily skateboarding to work.

What is included with the stand ?

The stand comes with the basic equipment you need to start working. The iceRoll Aluminum stand is always provided with the accessories listed below.

The iceRoll frozen pan made with the best materials you can find and which is suitable for indoor and outdoor use (from 4°C up to 40°C). You will not have to worry about the temperature of the frozen plate thanks to the machine self-operated temperature control system.

A 110 L fridge in which you can store up to 25 bottles of mix and the pieces of fruit you need for the day. It also cools the toppings and the bottle dispenser which are placed above it.

12 stainless steel buckets in which you can store everything you need.

A Napkin dispenser, a very efficient tool to store and distribute iceRoll Napkins.

An upper banner, used to make the stand and brand visible. It is attached to the stand with 2 removable aluminum pipes.

6 Squeeze bottles: they are to be filled with fruit puree or sweet flavours (caramel, chocolate, etc).

2 Spatulas : they are always used in pair in order to roll the ice cream rolls.

A roll clip: the clip is the accessory you need to grab the frozen rolls and put them in a cup.

A pouring spout : the spout is to be put on top of the glass bottle containing the ice cream preparation. It will allow you to measure the quantity of preparation poured onto the chilled plate.

Bottle: an ecological and hygienic way to store your ice cream mix.

Cloth : the cloth is useful to constantly have a clean and hygienic working surface.

A bin: it is an essential accessory to keep the stand clean and hygienic.

This package costs € 10 000 (taxes and shipping costs are not included).

When will my iceRoll stand be delivered?

To provide you with high quality stands, we build them in Paris and then ship them worldwide. Let us know what your requirements are and we will do our best to deliver your stand when needed. We can do express delivery (15-30 days).

What does my annual fee entitle me to?

The iceRoll Family fees are € 3000 and include :

Principles and Goals

What are the goals of iceRoll?

Our main goal is to stop the domination of the boring big brands, to enable young entrepreneurs run their own high-quality ice cream business with low, reasonable startup costs.

We want to offer iceRoll ice cream and smiles all around the world.

50 IceRoll stands can be bought for the price of a big franchise ice cream shop.

What are the principles of iceRoll?

It’s all about helping people launch a fresh and innovative business. From here comes our support when it comes to assisting solo entrepreneurs around the world wishing to start their business thanks to us. Our first term when we close the deals with the iceRoller : you should serve all our friends with the same smile.

We care about energy ! We really do. Running an iceRoll business uses 80% less electricity than running a standard ice cream business because we have significantly reduced the cold chain : we freeze the ice cream right before the consumer eats it.

We rethought the whole process : the ice cream is not made in a -40°C lab, stocked, transported to the points of sale and then offer it to our clients !

The ice cream mix is made the day before it is served.

Rules and Responsibility

Are there any specific rules I need to follow?

All our iceRollers shall abide by the following principles :

Serve every individual with the same smile.

Serve the best looking ice cream possible.

Participate in global iceRoll campaigns, make efforts to provide the community with material for social media channels, provide us with photos and information about your iceRoll business, and make any material you participate with, free for all iceRollers to use in their marketing of iceRoll.

Pay all subcontractors in accordance with the minimum legal wage applying in your country.

Keep the iceRoll stand clean and in good shape and make sure that the ice cream, food and pastries you serve are always fresh.

Follow all local laws applying in your territory.

Failure to comply with the above principles may result in a warning. If the iceRoller still fails to comply with the principles, he/she will lose the right to operate under the iceRoll brand name, as well as all other rights connected to iceRoll.

What do I need to sell on a iceRoll stand?

It is very easy. The stand comes with the basic equipment you need to start working. Then you need a location. Mind that some locations might require a permit depending on the local laws and if you choose to work in a public or private spot. Make sure you check the regulations applying in your city !

What can I sell on an iceRoll stand?

You can sell ice cream (obviously), fresh cakes, coffee, tea and juices. However, the most important product is ice cream, it is the identity of iceRoll. Keep it in mind when you decide to sell other products.

How can I become an iceRoller?

After placing your order, you will get an invitation to be part of the iceRoll Family, which will help you grow into the role of being an iceRoller.

We call iceRoller those who run or own an iceRoll Stand. They are people from all over the world sharing same values and goals.

Areas

Where can I operate?

Generally, it depends on local laws, on your flexibility and on your mode of operation. You might work at a fixed location : in a mall or in a shop, or in any place where electricity is available and where there is a lot of passing-by.

iceRollers do sell in public parks, on street sides, at ferry terminals, in their neighborhoods, at business complexes, in shopping malls, at universities, in bazaars, … It is totally up to you to choose the best accessible and most profitable location !

Where are the existing Master Rights Holders ? Can I operate in those areas ?

Today, there are Masters Rights Holders in Koweit and Switzerland. If you would like to operate in any of these areas, please feel free to contact us to see how we can manage it !

Operations

Will I need a permit to operate my iceRoll stand ? Can you help me with getting my permit ?

Its depends on different things. In France you need a food diploma to operate any kind of food business. We advise you to contemplate operating your iceRoll stand in private areas : universities, airports, malls, the space outside a store etc. Make deals with private places (much simpler and faster deals).

Remember: iceRoll is a show, people stay in front of the stand just to look at how you master the art of ice cream rolling. This make it easier for any iceRoller to negotiate good places. This is when your entrepreneurship skills come into play. As we are getting more and more visibility, people are offering us locations. Tell us where you are looking for settling yourself : we might have some opportunities for you !

iceRoll also provides jobs and business ownership to young people, don’t forget to push that argument forwards.

Can I borrow or rent an iceRoll counter from you to try it out?

No, we do not offer this service at the moment.

How much ice cream can I make whith a fully loaded stand ?

In the fridge you can store the fruit purées and the ice cream mix. When the fridge is fully loaded, you should be able to make around 300 cups of ice cream. With extra storage you can easily double that capacity. We use great transportable cases to store the extra cups, spoons, napkins, cleaning tools ...

How much ice cream can be made on average?

We advise you to work in pairs (it is funier and much faster at rush hours). In this case, it takes 45 seconds to make an ice cream. Don’t forget to spend time explaining the concept and the quality of the products you use .

Money and Sales

How can make money with the stand ?

We have seen that there are 3 ways to use the stand. Each solution has pros and cons.

Solution A : You offer your services for corporate or private events. This service is charged from € 800 to € 2 500 depending on the duration of the event and the number of people attending the it. You will be provided with quote templates and a manual on how to sell your event service when you join the iceRoll family here

Solution B : You sell directly to customers so you will be looking for places with a lot of passing-by: sea sides, city centers, malls, walking areas,… On a nice spot you can make up to € 1000/day and you can easily double that sum if you are the premium spot. You will find offers of point of sale on MyiceRoll after ordering your stand here

Solution C : You can set up the stand in an existing concept like a restaurant, a bar, a club, a boutique… The key is to find a great spot with a lot of passing by, then the attractive and innovative concept makes the job. The money you earn will depend on the time of day, the location, the day, the weather conditions, and so on.

How much will I earn per day? In other words, what is the average sale for an iceRoll Stand ?

Oh yes, that is the question, isn’t it?

From what we experienced over the past few years we can say that up to € 1 300 can be earned in 4 hours’ time. The key is to find a great spot with a lot of passing by, then, the attractive and innovative concept makes the job. In a good spot you can make around € 500-600/day (in one six-hours shift). Of course, most of the selling is done during ‘rush’ hours, and you can earn A LOT more by moving your stand to where the people are at the moment AND by changing your menu (to match customers’ requests). What is the estimated cost per cup of iceRoll?

When joining the FAMILY you will benefit from long-term partnerships & deals we have been building for 2 years with our supplyers. It will allow you to keep your costs at the lowest for the best products. We will provide you with a detailed calculation of costs, but in all, making an ice cream will cost you around € 0.70

To give you some more maths to think about : the approximate sales for our iceRoller Jérémy in Annecy (beautiful place in the Alps) is of 40 cups per hour, each one sold 4€ (these numbers may vary depending on where, how and when you sell).

Earnings : 4€ x 40 cups per hour = about 160 € per hour Costs : 0,70€ x 40 cups per hour = about 28 € cost per hour Total Profit : 132 € per hour

How can I improve my sales?

The three most important things to think about: Consistency: for every week you stand at the same spot, your revenue will rise by 5%. Enjoy yourself­ : happy people sell more ice cream. YOU RUN A SHOW ! Experiment­ : move to different locations, try different times.

According to our current estimates of profit, it should take about 2 months of brisk sales to pay off the costs of purchasing an iceRoll Stand.

Can I order powder from you?

Yes you can and you have to :) This very ice cream mix is our signature.

How to make the ice cream ?

We made it as simple as possible for you. You just have to add some fresh milk and cream to the ice cream preparation, stir well and ... that is all !

Is your ice cream mix natural ?

YES !!! There is absolutely no preservative, no food colouring, no added flavor. You will be make the ice cream mix the day before it is served.

What is unique about the iceRoll ice cream mix ?

We worked with an ice cream chef so as to have a most tasty and smooth and natural ice cream. We worked out the perfect combination of ingredients so as to have an easy to roll ice cream. We work hard to make it simple for you.

Can I use an other supplier of mix if I have one ?

No, we worked with great chef to develop our mix. If you have not tested it yet, go for it, you will love it ! We want to offer the same high quality ice cream all over the world, that is why we ask you to use our ice cream mix.

Can I make a vegetal ice cream or a vegan ice cream with the ice cream base ?

There is cow milk powder in our powder base, that is why it won’t be a 100% vegetable ice cream. However, you can use vegetal milk and cream to make your ice cream mix.

What can I sell from an iceRoll counter?

We recommend that you offer at least 6 different flavors or fruit purées.. You can also offer soft drinks, pieces of fruit and pastries (3 different kinds maximum) that you will store in the fridge.

Sell bagels and sandwiches in the evening, or give your stand a French touch by selling crêpes !

What stand and supplies can I buy from you ? What is the price?

What about replacement cups, napkins, and spoons?

We branded our own cups, spoons and napkins. You will not even have to manage that !

Unbranded

Can I buy an unbranded counter from you?

No.

Can I buy a counter branded with my own brand?

No.

Can I buy a frozen pan, without the stand?

Yes, we can send you a nude circular frozen pan, without the external structure. This offer does not include any support from the HQ (marketing, communication, brand, shootings..). It is only the machine, nothing else.

Technical Stuff

What are the size and weight of the iceRoll stand ?

The dimensions and weight of the iceRoll Aluminum stand are shown in the graph below.

LENGTH : 145 CM, WIDTH: 80 CM, HEIGHT: 95 CM – 199,5 CM

NET WEIGHT 150 kg (without accessories). Shipping weight : about 200 kg.

What kind of vehicle is needed to transport the counter ?

For one stand you can use a Citan Mercedes-sized car.
To transport 2 stands you can use a long mercedes Vito-sized car.

To load your vehicle you will need a ramp. You can buy one fitting your needs on our E-shop. Otherwise, the stand is quite heavy and it takes 2 or 3 people to lift it up. Once you have loaded it, you need to secure it by locking each wheel.

When you start running your business, we advise you to rent the truck instead of buying it. Renting a truck will cost you around € 450(without taxes)/month thanks to our partnerships.

What about cooling?

Inside the stand is a professional and very powerful fridge that cools the ice cream mix stored inside it as well as the toppings contained in the stainless steel buckets placed above.

To transport the consumables when the fridge is not on electricity we have selected a perfect cooler with ice packs (You can find on our E-shop). This is a very important part, it is your responsibility to serve a perfect ice cream with the best ingredients. Make sure that all your consumables are kept at the right temperature.

Can I get a stand with customized technical specs?

We will try to help you but we still are a small team and have limited resources to adapt to every special request. But we will try, so please send us a picture of what you want and we will get back to you to tell you if there is something we can do, or to give you advice on how to make the modifications by yourself.

Shipping

What are the delivery times ?

From the day we send it until arrival it takes between 15-35 days, depending on where in the world you are located. US, Asia and Australia is around 35 days while Europe is close to 7 days delivery.

How much wil the shipping cost ?

This depends on where exactly in the world you are and also on the volume of your order. But below is some approximate figures. But please keep in mind that those are approximations.

Europe : Approximately 750 USD

Rest of the world: 800-1500 USD (depending on your location)

Is any their import taxes ?

On this point, it depends on your local customs but you can ask them for a refrigerating machine. You will have a pretty close price.

How to prepare the perfect iceRoll ?

How to make the ice cream base ?

We worked hard to make it simple for you. We developed a powder solution (no preservative, no added flavour, and no food colouring) to which you just have to add fresh milk and 30% fat cream. Then mix it with a mixer in a big bucket and let it cool for 12 hours in the fridge. We will send you the exact recipe by email.

Where can I find the sirup you use ?

It is not sirop, it is mixed pieces of fruit. It is super tasty and with that solution you are guaranteed to have a constant high quality ice cream. You will receive the contact of our supplier with your stand when you join the Family.

Can I createe my own recipes ?

Yes, and we encourage you to do so ! Use local pieces of fruit, limk and create as much as possible, and communicate on it !

Can I use my own cups, spoons and napkins ?

No, for one simple reason: all of those tools are a communication tool for you, they all are branded. We designed our own spoons, cups and napkins. It works perfectly, you won’t regret it ;)

How can I learn to roll ice creams ?

You can come to our office in Paris or e-learn by watching our videos on your MyiceRoll page when you join the family.

When was iceRoll created ?

iceRoll was founded in Paris, France, in 2014 by Quentin Bourdonnay.At the begining he was helped by Felix and both of them can now count on the support of their team !
